[...] AGRA Watch, a program of the Community Alliance for Global Justice (CAGJ), will be hosting a film night featuring “Sweet Crude,” a documentary which examines the stark contrast between the wealth to be gained from extracting oil in the Niger Delta and the abject poverty of the people living on the land. The screening will take place at 5:00 pm on Saturday, 10 July, at the Righi house (6002 Fremont Ave. N). The film is now under event-driven distribution through Area23a. The objectives of AGRA Watch are to “monitor and question the Gates Foundation’s participation in the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA),” and the group regularly conducts research and shares information that points toward a more complete understanding of justice for those involved in “development projects.” [...]
