Educate for Action

Community Alliance for Global Justice and the Food Justice Project is developing “Educate for Action” participatory workshops for organizations, student groups, academics, individuals and businesses who are interested in learning more about food justice issues and CAGJ’s work and how they can take action. With a huge need not only to increase food literacy, but also to inspire, activate, and support organizing for a fair food system.

CAGJ‘s popular education series will inform and activate the public about food justice and food sovereignty. Teams of volunteers and the community have helped develop what WE (and you!) want to say about food justice & sovereignty, and how to say it. After developing the content and some activities for each topic, we are training educators who want to go out to the community to talk about food justice and inspire action.

Topics include:

1) Defining and describing our current food system
2) Sexism, Racism, and Classism in the food system
3) a democratic Food and Farm Bill
4) Food justice and food sovereignty

Want to become an educator for action? New volunteers welcome! Or interested in hosting a workshop?
